\"\"<\/a>Congratulation to John Rose, our champion of the second\u00a0KTTC 41-point Handicap Club Tournament. \u00a0On April 7th, 2015, KTTC hosts a club tournament using the USATT 41-point handicap system. \u00a0The tournament uses single elimination format and 16 brave souls showed up to compete. \u00a0The tournament is one of our club fun events and every player will put in $3.00 for the prize money pool. \u00a0The winner takes 50% of the pool money (Enough to buy a round of beer for all members! \u00a0John, are you listening…) and 1st runner-up will take 25% of the pool money. \u00a0(Enough to buy at least a six-pack!)\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since there was no seeding in this tournament, the draw was done by the players themselves. \u00a0The tournament was quite a nerve-wrecking experience especially for those with higher USATT rating players. \u00a0There are many\u00a0upsets as well. \u00a0Nadeem has played above his level to beat second seed (in terms of rating) Fran to advance to quarter final only to find\u00a0Dong has to use his prowess in his looping to defeat Nadeem to the semi-final! \u00a0Dong eventually has to maximize\u00a0his spinning serve and power looping to beat Corey in the semi-final.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>On the other bracket, John Rose has made great stride in defeating top seed Ely and Jonathan with his strong back hand smash and service angle to make it to the final.<\/p>\n

During the final, Dong has made a huge effort to tie the match at 35 point. \u00a0Dong then took the next two points to lead 37:35. \u00a0John, however, does not waver, and uses his solid defense to win the next two points to tie the match at 37. \u00a0The pair ties the match at 38 and 39 and John in end pulled off the last two points to win the final with 41:39! \u00a0Once again, congratulation to John Rose\u00a0in winning the tournament.<\/p>\n
