We are happy to announce that we will host our second tournament of the year, the Knoxville Sweat for Ukraine Open Tournament on October 18th<\/sup>, 2025.  This tournament is a fund raiser event for a Knoxville based Ukrainian non-profit organization called KoloHub<\/a>.  Their mission is to provide humanitarian and medical relief to war-impacted people and animals in Ukraine.  50% of the tournament profit will be donated to this organization.  In the StadiumCompete online entry form, there will be a separate event called “Donate to KoloHub” setup for extra donation to this organization.  100% of this non-playing event will be donated to Kolohub.  In addition, the $25 donation will get you 5 tickets under your name to the raffle lucky draw for a Ukrainian Gift basket prepared by KoloHub team.<\/p>\n

This tournament format will be using a multi-stage Giant Round Robin format.  First stage will be a round robin with 8 groups of 6 players.  Every one will advance to the next stage.  Second stage will be Division A, B, C, D, E, F Round Robin with 2 groups of 4 players for each division.  Then the top two finishes from the second stage Divisional Round Robin will play a cross over semi-finals and finals and the 3rd place match.<\/p>\n

We will continue to offer Upset Gold Dollars as well.  For those who are familiar with our Gold Dollar Upset format, the winner of every upset match played between two USATT rated players will receive Upset Gold Dollar.  The rules for winning the upset Gold Dollar are:<\/p>\n

  1. Gold Dollars will be paid to the winners of all upsets, regardless of player’s rating.<\/li>\n
  2. Winners of each and every upset will receive gold dollars using the following payout schedule:\n

    1. Rating difference: 100 or less, Gold Dollar reward: $5.00<\/li>\n
    2. Rating difference: 101 to 150, Gold Dollar reward: $10.00<\/li>\n
    3. Rating difference: 151 or larger, Gold Dollar reward: $15.00<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. The gold dollars will be paid immediately upon confirmation of match sheets showing upsets on a first come first get paid basis until the funds run out. KTTC reserves $200 Gold Dollars for this payout.  So sharpen your game and hit the court running fast!<\/li>\n
    5. Rating used to determine the upsets will be the USATT ratings of record as of Friday before the tournament.  Only USATT rated players prior to the date of the tournament are eligible to win gold dollars.<\/li>\n
    6. Both players have to be USATT rated before the tournament date to be Gold Dollars eligible.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      To register online, please go to www.stadiumcompete.com<\/a> and look for the tournament.  Then click on the Entry Form button to enter.  You can click on the Tournament Information link to download the entry form for details.  If you are interested in getting the Hotel Discount, please book the hotel at the Hotel link and email to knoxvilletabletennisclub@gmail.com with your reservation number.  We will then refund you the $10 discount.<\/p>\n

      Tournament Hotel:<\/h3>\n

      We have also reserved a block of rooms at our tournament hotel sponsor Holiday Inn Cedar Bluff with a group rate of $124 + tax.  The rate is good for both Friday and Saturday for that weekend.  Please use this link here<\/a> to initiate your hotel reservation.  The Group Rate will expire on October 06th<\/sup>, 2025 Monday.  If there is any issue reserving your group rate, please call the hotel directly at 865-693-1011 and use Group Code of KT6.  In order to encourage our players to stay at the tournament hotel property, we will offer $10 discount off your entry fee if you make your reservation to the hotel.  Simply first register the tournament, then make the hotel reservation and email your reservation number together with your name to knoxvilletabletennisclub@gmail.com.  We will check to make sure that your reservation is active as of Friday before the tournament date.  If you cancel your reservation, $10 discount balance will be added back to your tournament fee and you will need to pay for it upon tournament check-in time.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
